Alitalia has just shown off its new livery, its first new look in over 45 years.
With its retention of the Flag Carrier's Italian colors and distinctive "A" it is an interesting that Landor (Design) N.American chair comments that the changes are so subtle "consumers won't even notice them", albeit they will "feel more contemporary".
It feels like it begs the question why change?
Hopefully the "deeper hues" do give a more contemporary feel and hopefully the interiors have been updated too.
Subtlety certainly has its place, but you would hope consumers or potential consumers would notice something new.
